Paris - MENA
Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damati will attend the 18th session of the executive committee of the international campaign for the establishment of the Nubia Museum in Aswan and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo, Egypt's Ambassador to UNESCO Mohamed Sameh Amr said on Thursday.
In a statement, Amr hailed the good timing of holding the executive committee meeting as it is expected to probe all progress made in the projects of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo and the Nubia Museum in Aswan.
The executive committee's report on the two projects is due to be presented in the meeting of the UNESCO general conference, he added.
Amr asserted the importance of holding such a meeting that will help hold consultations with the UNESCO executive committee members over other projects implemented by Egypt during the current phase, especially the Grand Egyptian Musemum project.
Egypt's antiquities minister will discuss with Director of UNESCO’s World Heritage Centre Kishore Rao and other officials Egyptian archaeological sites placed on list of World Heritage, including, the Monastery of Abu Mena and Historic Cairo site.
