David Crosby struck a jogger while driving his car through Santa Ynez, Calif., Sunday.
The 73-year-old American singer hit Jose Jimenez, 46, who was jogging on the ride side of the road. Jimenez was airlifted to a hospital 30 miles away. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
California Highway Patrol said Crosby was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident and was driving the speed limit of 55 mph. He claimed the sun was in his eyes when he hit Jimenez.
Crosby's spokesman said in a statement that the singer was "obviously very upset that he accidentally hit anyone."
"And, based off of initial reports, he is relieved that the injuries to the gentleman were not life threatening," the statement added. "He wishes the jogger a very speedy recovery."
Crosby is one of the founding members of folk rock group Crosby, Stills & Nash. He also founded The Byrds and CPR.
