Renowned Emirati singer Hussain Al Jassmi is set to take the stage this Friday March 13th at Arad Fort, performing some of his top hits to Bahrain’s audience.
Al Jassmi, known for his evocative music, initially started performing with his brothers, as part of the UAE band "the Gulf Band" which became a massive hit in the UAE. Following that, he participated in a talent show as part of Dubai Shopping Festival, in which he won first place, and which led to his signing of a record deal with Rotana Company. From there, he went on to produce his first album, Al Jassmi 2002, and took part in various music festivals and concerts.
Bringing the UAE’s unique music to the Middle East, the Emirati star has also been successful in performing in both the Egyptian and Moroccan dialects, showcasing a wide range of music and expanding his reach to the wider Arab region. Al Jassmi also contributed to movies and TV series through the provision of a number of opening themes to famous dramas and movies.
Al Jassmi has been recognised for his contributions to the music industry, and has won a number of awards and recognitions, including ART Festival’s Music Creativity Award in 2007, Best Arab Singer 2007 at the Murex Festival, as well as the award for distinct singing (Arab world) in 2009, during a ceremony held by the United Nations to mark International Youth Day.
The Spring of Culture is one of the largest events in Bahrain, featuring performances by renowned international artists. The 10th Spring of Culture will be held between March and April 2015, and will host a number of international artists, as well as young Bahraini talents. The festival is expected to attract audiences from across the region and will contribute to the tourism sector in the Kingdom.
The Spring of Culture Festival is organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in collaboration with the Economic Development Board (EDB), Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research, Al Bareh Art Gallery, Al Riwaq Art Space, and La Fontaine Centre.
Organisers have announced that tickets for the concert will be available through Spring of Culture stand located near Gate 2 in the Bahrain City Centre, and through the website www.springofculture.org.
