Kuwait's Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Development and Planning Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh praised efforts exerted by Sheikh Fatima Bint Mubarak Al-Ketbi -- spouse of the late founder of the UAE -- in supporting family programs and women activities in various Arab nations.
"Sheikha Fatima is a prominent figure in the field of humanitarian and social work in the Gulf and Arab regions," said Minister Al-Sabeeh in remarks to KUNA following her arrival in Abu Dhabi, late on Tuesday, to partake in the honoring ceremony for Sheikha Fatima for gaining the title "Mother of the Arabs" by the Arab Family Organization (AFO).
Minister Al-Sabeeh congratulated Sheikha Fatima for gaining this title that reflects the great efforts she exerted in social works and applauded the AFO for such recognition. The Kuwaiti minister will meet her UAE counterpart during her visit to the country to discuss a number of issues of mutual interest and means to boost bilateral ties, especially in labor, social affairs and development.
The honoring ceremony, to be held later on Wednesday, will be attended by a number of ministers, senior officials, and activists in the fields of social and developmental work from various Arab nations.
Sheikha Fatima is spouse of the founder and first president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. She had been called "mother of the sheikhs," and then "mother of the UAE or nation."
